Kirksville, MO 1/14/22 – Upon confirmation of another 57 new cases of COVID-19 today, the Adair County seven-day total, from Saturday, Jan. 8 through today, is 284. The overall case count now stands at 4,927 and the death toll at 48.

Among today’s cases are nine in the K-12 schools sector, 13 in the higher education sector, and three at a communal living facility. Sixteen of the cases are breakthrough infections of fully vaccinated individuals ranging in ages from 14 through 78.

Females are ages 1, 13, 14, two age 15, 16, two age 18, three age 19, two age 20, 22, two age 23, 24, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 39, 47, 51, 53, 55, 60, 65, 69, 71, 78 and 81.

Males are ages 2, 7, 9, 16, 17, 18, two age 20, two age 21, three age 22, 29, 36, two age 37, 43, two age 56 and 61.

The Adair County Health Department recommends that all county residents ages 5 and older get vaccinated against COVID-19 and all residents ages 16 and older get vaccinated and boosted. Vaccines are easily accessible, free, and continue to demonstrate that they prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death.

Adult vaccination clinics are scheduled for Tuesdays in January and pediatric vaccination clinics are scheduled for Thursdays in the month. Adult clinics are from 2-4 p.m., Jan. 18 and 25. Pediatric clinics are from 3-5 p.m., Jan. 20 and 27. Residents should call the Health Department at 660-665-8491 to schedule an appointment.
