ONE-DAY TOTAL OF NEW COVID-19 CASES IN ADAIR COUNTY HITS 42

Kirksville, MO 11/30/21 – Adair County closes the month of November with 42 newly confirmed cases today. The overall count jumped to 3,859 with 105 active cases, 3,717 people who have left isolation, and 37 deaths.

The two new COVID-related deaths are previously reported cases. An unvaccinated 94-year-old female admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center Nov. 20 passed away Nov. 27. An unvaccinated 60-year-old male who worked in the plant sector died Nov. 28.

The Adair County Health Department confirmed that an 80-year-old male among today’s cases was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center today. He is not on a ventilator.

New cases include females ages 7, 21, 22, 23, two age 25, two age 34, 36, 41, 42, two age 43, 44, 45, 53, 60, 62, 65, 67, 71, two age 74, and one age 80. Males are ages 10, 15, 20, 23, 25, 30, 38, 39, 42, 46, 50, 62, two age 65, 66, 68, 71 and 80.

Among today’s cases, 14 reside at addresses with at least one other confirmed case and 10 are breakthrough infections. Three are in the K-12 schools sector, one is in the plant sector, and one is a resident in a skilled nursing facility.

54 NEW CASES OF COVID-19 CONFIRMED IN ADAIR COUNTY

Kirksville, MO 11/29/21 – The Adair County Health Department has confirmed 54 new cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday, Nov. 23. The overall case count now stands at 3,817. There are currently 69 active cases, 3,711 people who have left isolation, and 37 deaths. Information regarding the two new deaths will be released tomorrow.

Three previously reported cases were hospitalized. A 69-year-old fully vaccinated female was admitted to Hannibal Regional Hospital Nov. 21. A 59-year-old unvaccinated female was admitted then discharged from Boone Hospital Nov. 19. A 61-year-old unvaccinated male was admitted to Boone Nov. 20. None have been on a ventilator.

New cases involve females ages 3, 14, 16, 17, three age 21, two age 22, 24, two age 26, 29, two age 30, 32, 35, 37, 45, 48, 49, 51, 52, 54, 58, 60, 68 and 85. Males include two age 3 and ages 8, 10, 15, 16, 22, two age 23, 28 two age 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, two age 37, 42, 44, 46, 48, 51, 53, 56 and 63.

Among the 54 new cases, 29 reside at addresses with at least one other confirmed case and seven are breakthrough infections. Six are in the K-12 schools sector and three are in the higher education sector.

ADAIR COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT SCHEDULES OPPORTUNITIES FOR COVID-19 VACCINES

Kirksville, MO 11/29/21 – The Adair County Health Department has scheduled several opportunities for residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19 from tomorrow through Dec. 30, 2021. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be administered at the clinic, 1001 S. Jamison, and residents must call the Health Department at 660-665-8491 to register.

Residents may schedule first, second, third, and booster doses for all adult COVID-19 vaccine clinics. Adult doses are for those ages 12 and older. The pediatric clinics are only for children ages 5-11.

Residents are encouraged to stop by the Health Department any time to pick up a COVID vaccine consent form and bring the completed form to your appointment. Forms are available in marked containers outside the clinic entrance. White forms are for those consenting to first, second, third or pediatric dose. Green forms are for those consenting to a booster shot.

COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are free, but you must bring proof of prior vaccination. Masks are required, and short or loose sleeves recommended.

Upcoming adult COVID-19 vaccine clinics are from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays, Nov. 30 and December 7, 21 and 28. On Tuesday, Dec. 14, the adult clinic is from 2 to 4 p.m.  Upcoming pediatric COVID-19 vaccine clinics are from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, December 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Those who initiate a COVID-19 vaccine, including pediatric residents, will receive a $50 gift card to local Casey’s, Hy-Vee, Walgreens or Walmart stores. Those who get their second dose will also receive a $50 gift card. The incentive program does not include those receiving third doses or boosters.

The Adair County Health Department will host a community drawing for residents who received a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine from December 2020 through December 31, 2021 at the Adair County Health Department or at a mass vaccination event sponsored by the Health Department at The Crossing in Kirksville.

Qualifying residents who want to register for the drawing should use the “Contact Us” form on the Health Department website. Make sure you include your name, telephone number, and write in the “Message” portion that you wish to be entered in the community drawing.

Qualified residents without internet access can pick up a form from a box outside the Clinic entrance at the Adair County Health Department at 1001 S. Jamison Street. Once completed, they can drop it off inside during office hours, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Four winners will be drawn in the community drawing, and each will receive a $250 gift card to their choice of the four participating stores. With every 10 new participants in the incentive program, the Health Department will hold another community drawing. You can register only once for the community drawing. Those who wish to register can do so as of today.

 

ADAIR COUNTY CASE COUNT RISES TO 3,763

Kirksville, MO 11/23/21 – The Adair County Health Department has confirmed six new cases of COVID-19 which brings the overall count to 3,763. There are currently 43 active cases and 3,685 people who have left isolation.

New cases involve females ages 1, 3, 25, 27 and 59 and a 45-year-old male. One case resides at an address with at least one other confirmed case.

In the seven-day period from Nov. 13-19, there were 38 new cases confirmed in Adair County. Cases among those ages 51-90 exceeded those ages 0-30, 41% to 34%. Among these cases, only five were in the K-12 schools sector and one was in the higher education sector.

ADAIR COUNTY COVID-19 CASE COUNT CONTINUES UPWARD WITH 14 NEWLY CONFIRMED CASES

Kirksville, MO 11/22/21 – The Adair County Health Department today confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday. The overall count is now 3,757 with 45 active cases, 3,677 people who have left isolation, and 35 deaths.

In addition, a previously reported unvaccinated 94-year-old female was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center on Nov. 20. She is not requiring a ventilator. New cases involve two 24-year-old females and those ages 36, 40, 42 and 60. Males are ages 12, two age 13, 30, 37, 38, 57 and 61. Four reside at addresses with at least one other confirmed case. Three are in the K-12 schools sector, one is in the higher education sector, and one works at an area meat processing plant. Three are breakthrough infections.

The Health Department confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 yesterday and six more cases today. The overall count is 3,743 with 44 active cases and 3,664 people who have left isolation. Staff also confirmed the hospitalization of a previously reported case involving an unvaccinated 57-year-old male. He was admitted to Northeast Regional Medical Center yesterday and is not using a ventilator.

The three cases confirmed yesterday involve females ages 59 and 74, and a 33-year-old male. Today’s cases involve females ages 14, 20, 34 and 68, and males ages 23 and 77. Two cases reside at addresses with at least one other confirmed case. There is one case each in the K-12 schools and higher education sectors and four breakthrough cases.

 

13 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN ADAIR COUNTY IN TWO DAYS

Kirksville, MO 11/17/21 – The Adair County Health Department confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 yesterday and another eight new cases today. The overall count is now 3,734 with 47 active cases and 3,650 people who have left isolation. A previously reported unvaccinated 73-year-old male has been admitted to a Kansas City area hospital.

New cases Nov. 16 involved females ages 5, 28, 69 and 76 and a 72-year-old male. Today’s cases involve females ages 34, 56 and 94, and males ages 13, 23, 24, 38 and 66. Seven reside at addresses with at least one other confirmed case. One case is in the K-12 schools sector and two are breakthrough infections.

Kirksville, MO 11/15/21 – After hitting the first low in new cases at the end of October following the arrival of the Delta variant, cases in Adair County have been moving in an upward trajectory again. There were 43 active cases on Friday, Nov. 12, and 38 of them had been added to the count during the previous seven days. Some 63% of those 38 cases involve residents ages 30 and younger.

The Adair County Health Department today confirmed 16 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday. The overall case count is now 3,721 with 44 active cases and 3,642 people who have left isolation.

New cases include females ages 17, 30, 32, 37, 40, 54, two age 80, 83, 84 and 85. Males are ages 26, 38, 46, 57 and 81. Three reside at addresses with at least one other confirmed case, two are in the K-12 schools sector, and five are breakthrough infections.

Kirksville, MO 11/10/21 – The COVID-19 case count in Adair County continues to tick upward, nearing the 3,700 mark. Nine new cases confirmed today by the Adair County Health Department brings the overall total to 3,692. The number of active cases, 38, is the highest since Oct. 8, 2021.

The nine newly confirmed cases involve females ages 3, 70 and 84, and males ages 7, 17, 24, 25, 61 and 62. One case resides at an address with another previously confirmed case. Two are in the K-12 schools sector, one is in the higher education sector, and three are breakthrough infections.

Of the 31 total cases confirmed last week, from Oct. 30 through Nov. 5, 69% were ages 30 and younger, 52% were females and 48% were males. One-third were in the K-12 schools sector, 10% were in the higher education sector, and 21% were breakthrough infections.

ADAIR COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES COVID-19 VACCINATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM

Kirksville, MO 11/1/21 – The Adair County Health Department is coordinating a COVID-19 vaccination incentive program created by the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. The program features gift cards to local Hy-Vee, Walgreens and Walmart stores for those who get a COVID-19 vaccine or were vaccinated by the Adair County Health Department.

Those ages 12 and older who initiate a vaccine at the Health Department after Nov. 1, 2021, will receive a $50 gift card to one of the four stores for the first dose and a $50 gift card for the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines. Those who get their second vaccine after Nov. 1 at the Health Department will receive a $50 gift card for completing the two-dose process. The incentive program does not include those receiving third doses or boosters.

Once this incentive program has 10 new participants, the Adair County Health Department will host a community drawing for residents who received a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine from December 2020 through December 31, 2021 at the Adair County Health Department or at a mass vaccination event sponsored by the Health Department at The Crossing in Kirksville.
