Kirksville, MO 2/25/22 – The Adair County Health Department confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 yesterday and three today as the case count declines. The overall count is now 6,010, including 52 deaths.

Cases involve three 21-year-old females and other females ages 22, 24 and 26, plus a 21-year-old male. Six are in the higher education sector and three are breakthrough infections.

The Adair County Health Department recommends that all county residents ages 5 and older get vaccinated against COVID-19 and all residents ages 16 and older get vaccinated and boosted. No vaccines are 100% effective at preventing disease. However, the COVID-19 vaccines are easily accessible, free, and continue to demonstrate that they prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death.

The Health Department will administer COVID-19 vaccines at their clinic located at 1001 South Jamison Street throughout March. Adult clinics are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Pediatric clinics are scheduled from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
