Influenza Information

 

Influenza is widespread in Adair County with 51 cases reported during December 2017 and 192 cases reported during January 2018.  Precautions the public should take are as follows:

  • See your physician or health care provider should you feel sick and/or have flu symptoms:

-Fever and chills
-Cough
-Sore throat\Runny and stuffy nose
-Muscle or body aches
-Headaches
-Fatigue

*This is also very important for people with compromised immune systems.

  • Wash your hands often or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Cough into your sleeve. Influenza droplets can travel up to six feet.
  • Stay home from work or school if you are sick.
  • Avoid touching your face, nose, mouth and eyes.
  • Avoid attending events where the public is congregating.
