Influenza is widespread in Adair County with 51 cases reported during December 2017 and 192 cases reported during January 2018. Precautions the public should take are as follows:
See your physician or health care provider should you feel sick and/or have flu symptoms:
- Fever and chills
- Cough
- Sore throat\Runny and stuffy nose
- Muscle or body aches
- Headaches
- Fatigue
*This is also very important for people with compromised immune systems.
Wash your hands often or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Cough into your sleeve. Influenza droplets can travel up to six feet.
Stay home from work or school if you are sick.
Avoid touching your face, nose, mouth and eyes.
Avoid attending events where the public is congregating.
