Kirksville, MO 2/4/22 – Today’s confirmation of 30 new cases of COVID-19 by the Adair County Health Department brings the overall total to 5,800 cases.
Today’s cases include nine in the K-12 schools sector, three in the higher education sector and two in the skilled nursing facility sector. Sixteen are breakthrough infections.
Ages of today’s confirmed cases range from ages 3 to 76. The cases are divided equally between genders at 15 each. Breakdown by age group is as follows:
0-9 years: 4
10-19 years: 4
20-29 years: 6
30-39 years: 4
40-49 years: 8
50-59 years: 1
60-69 years: 1
70-79 years: 2
The Adair County Health Department recommends that all county residents ages 5 and older get vaccinated against COVID-19 and all residents ages 16 and older get vaccinated and boosted. No vaccines are 100% effective at preventing disease. However, the COVID-19 vaccines are easily accessible, free, and continue to demonstrate that they prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death.
Adult COVID-19 vaccination clinics are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Feb. 8, 15 and 22. Pediatric clinics are scheduled from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Feb. 10, 17 and 24. All clinics are at the Adair County Health Department, 1001 S. Jamison Street in Kirksville. Residents should call the Health Department at 660-665-8491 to schedule an appointment.
