Kirksville, MO 2/9/22 – The Adair County Health Department confirmed the 51st COVID-related death today. A 57-year-old vaccinated female whose case was reported Feb. 3 has died. There were also 16 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed today bringing the overall case count to 5,881.

Today’s cases include three in the K-12 school sector and four in the higher education sector. Four cases are breakthrough infections.

Ages of today’s confirmed cases range from ages 7 to 90. Six cases are males and ten are females. Breakdown by age group is as follows:

0-9 years: 1
10-19 years: 3
20-29 years: 3
30-39 years: 3
40-49 years: 0
50-59 years: 1
60-69 years: 4
70-79 years: 0
80-89 years: 0
90-99 years: 1

 

The Adair County Health Department recommends that all county residents ages 5 and older get vaccinated against COVID-19 and all residents ages 16 and older get vaccinated and boosted. Vaccines are easily accessible, free, and continue to demonstrate that they prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death.
