Family Planning


The Adair County Health Department offers a full range of family planning services for men and women. The goal of the program is to reduce unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.

Our staff, including Registered Nurses and a Nurse Practitioner, is committed to providing you quality services that are both confidential and affordable.  Client’s voluntary and informed consent is required.  All services provided confidentially.


Family Planning Services Available During Regular Clinic Hours (Mon, Wed, and Fri from 8-4pm)

      • Birth Control Supplies (if already prescribed)
      • Pregnancy Testing
      • Contraception and Emergency Contraception (if already prescribed)
      • Testing for Sexually Transmitted Disease
      • HIV/Syphilis Testing
      • Counseling, Education and Referral
      • Immunizations
      • Physical Exams (excluding genital/gynecological examinations)

Family Planning Services Available By Appointment Only

      • Women’s Health Services and gynecological examinations
      • Men’s Health Services and genital examinations

Payment for Services:

The cost to clients is based on a sliding scale and ability to pay.  State and federal funding is used to help offset costs for clients who cannot afford to pay.  Insurance and Medicaid is accepted.
